Master Replicas Studio Scale Snowspeeder
I purchased a damaged Master Replicas Studio Scale Snowspeeder off of ebay. I took the time and refurbished this fine display piece for my Star Wars collection.

The Snowspeeder had some damage to it. The right side cannon was broken off of the ship, the right
side rear was damaged, and the rear blaster / tow cannon was broken off. It was also lacking the display case.
So I started to refurbish this item. I started off by gluing the rear backside together.

After I glued the rear back together I took some modeling putty and filled in the cracks and gaps.

After the read was fixed this is how it turned out in the end after painting.
You can still see a crack line that that is fine with me. I then moved onto the broken cannon on the rightside.

With an O-ring I recreated the circle part of the cannon.

Then with some modeling putty I filled in the connecting area to make it look as one piece again.

After the cannon was fixed this is how it turned out in the end after painting. I then moved onto the rear blaster / tow-cannon.

I just had to glue this back into place.

Here you can see the damaged areas that I had to fix.

Then I repainted the fixed areas accordingly.

I then purchased some wood so I could make a display base. I had my friend John Nikoloff route
the edges and he is going to make a custom acrylic dispaly case to put onto the base I am creating.
I am going to make the base look like snow and ice.

Before I create the base for the Snowspeeder I wanted to make sure I could sit the Snowspeeder on the base
as if it were in flight. I measured the Snowspeeder and figured out where I would need some pegs to hold it up.
After I measured, I marked the wood and drilled my three holes for my dowel rods to fit.

This is a preview of how the dowel rods will hold up the Snowspeeder.

For the base I wanted to make it look like snow or ice. I took some foam core and cut out some shapes for texture.
I then laid down some plaster bandages to give the proper look of flowing snow or ice.

I then covered the top of the base with rock hard water putty for the total effect.

When the putty was fully dried I primed the entire base.

When the primer was dry I took some sage, ice blue, and white paint and painted the display board.
When the paint was dry I brushed on a clear acrylic paint that has glitter mixed it. When dry it gives the look of snow and ice.

After the snow and ice was dry I masked off the edge of the board and painted it black.
I added a weight on the top of the display board. When working in the hot outdoors, heat
will sometimes warp the wood. So to prevent this I carefully laid a box with weight on top.

This is the finished Snowspeeder display base.

This is what the Snowspeeder looks like on top of the display base.

I left room on the display base for the plaque to sit in two different directions; the front or the side.

This is a top view of the Snowspeeder on the display base.

I purchased a custom display cover from
STOMPIN' GROUND QUALITY CUSTOM CASES AND COLLECTABLES
for my Snowspeeder and it fits like a glove.
