Vibram Five Fingers - Claw (Nails) Modification Many people know I LOVE the Vibram Five Finger toe shoes. I own several pairs and plan on getting more. I also am a lover of animals. I thought to myself how cool would it be if a pair of my toe shoes had claws on them? To me and I believe to many other people out there that would be awesome! So I did it. I am using the -

Men's Vibram FiveFingers KSO Trek Shoes black: A more rugged version of the very popular KSO style shoes. I first started out by purchasing a set of claws from Running Wolf Productions.
As you can see they are made for gloves so some modifications will have to be made.
These claws are made of a plastic resin that is very durable.

I ground down the nubs that would fit into a pair of gloves.

I then had to grind them down to fit the contour of the shoes.
Originally I was going to trim the nails flush with the rubber toes
but decided not to do that and keep the nails long.

Here is a quick look of placement of the claws. I think this is looking good.

I did not like the bright color of the claws when rested on the shoes. So I painted them with a pewter color.

I wore the shoes as I glued each nail into place.

Here is what the nails glued onto the shoes look like.

Very cool. Do you want a pair for yourself now? I bet you do.

The right big toe nail sits a little high. Oh well.

So here is my completed idea of putting claws (nails) onto a pair of Vibram Five Finger Toe Shoes.

So what do you think? Pretty cool right? Since making these modifications to my shoes I have had
several requests in asking if I would sell my shoes or if I would modify a pair for someone else?

Now if the Vibram Five Fingers company would take notice and produce a new pair of shoes with this design for everyone...hint, hint. You know it as well as I do. A pair of Vibram Five Fingers with attached claws on them would sell. Not just only to the Vibrams fans but to a whole new group of people as well. Vibrams could design a new all terrain type shoe or could still use one of the many designs of shoes and just redesign the front of the toes with rubber claws on them and call this new design the Vibrams "TALON" Line.
